The quality of digital maps can make or break route planners and navigation software. Here having accurate, complete and up-to-date maps is vitally important as is a clear display and additional data embedded into the map itself.

Therefore we have a specialised map department within the PTV Group that refines the high-quality digital map data provided by the European market leader NAVTEQ and other key data suppliers. With every new map release, you receive improved and updated map material - every release contains on average 20% more map data than the previous version.

The maps we supply with PC applications are not the same as the maps supplied for mobile navigation due to the different memory capacity of the hardware in each case. A map supplied with a PC application can support a significantly greater quantity of data than a map used for a navigation solution on a mobile device.

The spectrum of map&guide maps is very wide. It covers everything from classic standard maps (Italy, France City etc.) to special maps such as Arab Emirates and Brazil. All standard maps are updated at least once every year - in many cases there are several updates released every year.

Our map range now includes the new Extended Central Europe City map which is of particular interest to the transport industry. You can use numerous standard country maps (including detailed city maps for door-to-door routing) with map&guide.
