The new product concept: Route planning in a downloadable form

map&guide base - a brand-new product concept - has been on the market since December 2006. map&guide base combines the advantages of online and desktop route planners in a modular, innovative product which is especially suited to beginner-level users, transport companies with a small number of vehicles, frequent drivers and secretarial offices.

Users can subscribe to map&guide base on the Internet portal: http://base.mapandguide.com. Here there is wide range of route planning functions which can be individually subscribed to; users only pay for the packages that they really need. Once the subscription process is complete, the program can then be downloaded for use on a PC desktop. Map material always fully up-to-date: When a user accesses a map that has been saved locally on the hard drive, map&guide base automatically checks to see whether more up-to-date material is available for this map view.

The wide selection of functions offered by map&guide base vastly exceeds anything available in conventional online route planners. Thanks to the software's "speedmaps", the map refresh rate is also much faster than with most other online route planners. Plus - all personal data is always saved locally on the user's computer which ensures that no confidential data is ever sent over the web.
